I was wondering if my tank was overstocked. I have a 55 gallon with a fair amount of fake plants and 2 bubbler decorations. Here’s the inhabitants of the tank:

9-Zebra Danio’s
8 Silver Hatchet Fish
9 Lemon Tetra’s
5 Red Wag Swordtails
2 Male Dwarf Gourami’s
3 Neon Tetra’s (3 died, probably due to being added to the tank too early)

I also have 3 mystery snails and 4 ghost shrimp for my scavengers/clean-up group.

The reason why I ask is because I always see my lemon tetra’s fighting, although all the other fish seem very peaceful. I see no visible signs of disease and I do a weekly 10% water change. Here are my water parameters:

pH: 7.5
Amonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 20ppm

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Some schooling fish will do that, my neons are often seen turning around and biting at each other. I see no problems with your stocking levels, although I wouldn't add anything else other than a few more neons to give them a proper school.
