i have seven blue dolphins and five frontosas in a 125 gallon(6 ft).i have a dominant male in each group and the rest are still unsexable, all are young fish.if you go by the various inches rules (which i normally dont)that equals 116+ inches i have never owned any of these fish as adults so im not sure what to expect. i know what all the books and websites say.but i would really like to know what the rest of you think.right now the sizes are blue dolphins-1 four inch male, 2-three inch,4-two inch. frontosas- 1 -four inch male, 2-three inch, 2-two inch equalling(sp?) 32 inches.i dont wish to keep either species in any smaller of a group.in about 1 years time i will have a pond built in my basement between 500 and 1200 gallons and they may go in there anyway.obviously fish as beautiful as these i would much rather have in an aquarium so all quests can see the fish up close but i care about my fish more, especially flipper(blue dolphin male) and franky the mafia fish(frontosa male).oh and i say they're males because they were purchased at the same time as the three inchers from both groups and grew twice as fast and both have rather large humps for there size but most women i meet say im an idiot so i could be wrong.

ive actually already read ALL of those articles and all of the ones on the frontosa forum and all of the ones my yahoo search engine could find.im asking for peoples personal opinions on the subject.

I think for now your fine, but as the fronts mature (I dont think you mentioned what species you have) they will likely appreciate a larger tank. You may or may not see breeding with the blue dolphins around. The C. moori are quite hyper and may discourage the relitavely shy frontosa from breeding. But if you are not interested in breeding then they seem to get along fine, as I've seen this combo many times in the past.

I think you would probebly be able to keep this group as adults comfortably in a 240. The 125 is probebly just slightly too small for the fronts once they reach maturity.

actually i have no idea what species they are i buy all my fish from the same guy and he doesnt know what kind they are.i would like to find out.my "dealer" runs a fish store out of his basement, though he will lie to make a sale he definately knows alot more than any chain store and he really does love the fish he sales.they all have six stripes. and the group of five came from four different shipments.im trying to find away to identify them with no luck.i think i will use the 125 till the ponds built then throw em in there.thanks for the help
