i recently got a python from a friend that no longer needs it. it doesn't seem hard to use but i don't wanna make a mistake that could be fatal to my tank so if you guys could give some pointers on how to use it i would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Louie

Do you have the kind that hooks to a faucet, or just the siphon part?

ack! I cant figure out how to link to other threads, but I did a seach here for "python faucet" and came up with some info on use and problems or questions you may run in to.

took me a while to duh figure it out==minimize this window, open another and go to site, copy url, return to post, paste it, do preview to make sure it's underlined, if not, do so!! and voila! link dunno how to do the other kind like " check out this" (but don't try that one LOL)

Make sure if you detach any of the hosing to get it back on very tight and secure ... I added an extension to mine and didn't twist one of the nozzles into place tight enough and the whole thing exploded in my kitchen lol ...

There was water everywhere!#

The directions were really helpful and just playing around with it for practice is good too. I just put a bucket of water in the bath tub with a handful of gravel and "cleaned" and filled up the bucket too. It's pretty easy, the important thing is the thing connected to the actual water source, depending on whether u want to fill or clean u need to twist the bottom portion a bit, u'll get the hang of it soon i promise ^-^. other than that also know the switch which lets u close or open the water way, it's a good thing to have ur hand on just in case a fishy gets too curious and gets in there, it wunt get sucked up but i dunt think it'll be able to swim away either so just turn off the switch and the suction will stop. dunt forget to add whatever anti-chlorine chemical your using before cleaning either. i hope this helps.
