I have a 6 gallon at work, the Eclipse 6.

For fish I have
1 Dwarf Gourami
4 Neon Tetras
about 3 tiny snails

Plants:
2 Brazilian Sword
2 Anunbias Nana
2 Java Fern

I am thinking of adding 2 Mollies and maybe some kind of bottom feeder (otto or Cory). Would this be too much? Do I need a bottom feeder, or do the snails do the job of eating the extra food and algae?

By the way the 2 Mollies are not my first choice, but they are in a tiny tank that my wife wants to get rid of. Not much choice there.

Any thoughts?

mollys get that big? the biggest ones ive seen was little over 2 inches...
i think youre fine. just keep up the water change.

i had some silver mollies that reached abt 5 inches.. but they were in a huge pond.. and years old :)

ryanalex, about the snails.. they will eat the extra food.. they will also eat some algae but maybe not that much.. good luck with the hobby :)

Otos and corys are a no go as well, they thrive in groups. If you think your tank looks to empty, instead of adding more fish why not another small plant? It'll help stave off the algae and take up some of the nitrogen compounds produced by your fish. Just leave room for the fish to swim. Then it won't feel so empty.

Add a couple more neons. You could get away with 2 or even 3 otos as well. Mollies are far to big. You will need to keep up with water changes - I have a 7gal with 5 white clouds, 3 guppies and 2 firebelly newts, this gets 75%-80% water change each week.
