Was wondering if Hikari Chiclid food was a good food for a largemouth bass. I have one about 3 inches in a 125 gallon along with a few bream. The bass and bream have been readily taking the pellets but I was wondering if they are a good stape for them. I know about how big they grow but I have a private self contained pond on our hunting land that he was caught out of that I can release him into and not have to worry about disease and laws.

Pelleted foods should be OK. I've tank-raised largemouths to about 12 inches on both pellets and live foods. Either way they grow mondo fast. In fact, the first time I tried it, they grew so much faster than the bluegills in the tank that they reached a size at which they considered their tankmates food after just a couple months (they all started out at 2-3"). Both floating cichlid pellets and sinking shrimp pellets were accepted well, and I supplemented with locally caught mosquitofish, grass shrimp and crayfish.

I had 2 for a while until they got too big. I fed them pellets, flakes, shrimp pellets for a while, then once they got a little bigger(4-5'') I started giving them earthworms along with the other stuff. Toward the end they would eat tree-frogs and lizards. I put them in my girlfriends parents pond and I assume they are OK, but I was scared they would'nt hunt on their own.

i feed my sunfish hikari chiclid gold, once a week they get frozen blood worms or BB shrimp,

I never could get a bass to eat pellets, I only kept id a few weeks before putting it in a pond.
