New with c02

Alright, I have been in fw tanks for quite a time until i turned to sw. I have ever had to use c02 on my old 55gal (probably had alot of fish) and my vallis, cambomba, java moss and some other plants thrived. I want a faster growth rate of these plants. I have a 55gal right now with about 120volt lighting (about 2wpg)

anyways, my question is, will a c02 system help me? I was thinking of a dyi system since I am limited to 200 to setup the tank with plants and fish. I read around and saw taht you need 1 gram of c02 per 25 gallons. So how many ppm would that be and how would you achieve that?

I know some of you would tell me to go to the stickies but I want to know each and everyones personal experience with c02.

i think for a 55 gallon if you want a DIY with yeast and sugar water you're going to need two units. The DIY works best with smaller sized tanks IMO...

Excel is a great source of Carbon. I have a DIY with around 20 ppm of carbon but I still dose excel daily and see a lot of benefit =)
