I have a 120 planted aquarium with presurized CO2 added. My kH was a bit low, so I added crushed coral to raise it. It went up to 8 and now has dropped back to 6 in a couple of days. It wouldn't be too big of a deal, but I have a pH meter on the CO2 tank. So, as the kH rises, so does my CO2 level, and as it lowers, same thing. I am trying to keep a constant CO2 level, but this isn't helping.

Is there a way I can stabilize my hardness? Am i doing something wrong.

I am cycling the tank, so as of yet I still do not have any Ammonia, Nitrite or Nitrate, but I am testing every other day to watch for spikes. i have about 20 fish in there right now.

I also have a 55 and a 10 which are established. I have recently resurected them from not being in too good of a condition. Their pH is 7, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate less than 20 (10-15). However, the kH is about 2 and I cannot get it to raise. I do have crushed coral in there for the last 2 weeks (in the filter), but no change. I have been doing water changes every few days (25-50%).

Any ideas?
