Hi,

My workplace has closed and no one would take the fish tanks. Seeing as I was the only one who looked after them for 18months, I have now taken them home.
I know very little about fish, apart from how to clean them out!

Ive managed to transport one to my house last night - it contains...please excuse my descriptions: 1 angel fish, 2 little bottom feeders(Catfish??) and 2 beautiful orangey fish with a black line through them...(any ideas?) - they are identical - one maybe a female and other male?

I kept them in their own water and kept as much of the tank water as possible to refill when I got home. I put in some "stress coat" following this.
I woke to find them looking ok this morning..

One question::
The angel fish began to "peel" last night, shortly after it was put back into the tank - its skin/scales went very flakey, even one eye had a white sheen to it - i got really worried....an hour later it was FINE?!
Was this a stress reaction???

Any help at all would be gratefully accepted as I need to know as much as possible....
How can i identify the other fish???

There is loads of info on this board, as well as others, about tank maintenance - i.e., the importance of regular water changes, how much to change, etc. You may already know this if your cleaning of the tanks while they were at your work included the water changes.

Here are a few links that are very helpful.

As for identification, if you can, post a picture, and somebody will be sure to know what you have.

It's great to see you going in with the right attitude! Good job!
