Painting the Back of an Aquarium

To all those who have painted the back of an aquarium, to you have issues with the paint peeling? I was removing my protective tape, and the paint just peeled off as well. I am thinking of not using tape at all. Once the painted background is finished, how easily does it come off? Is it worth doing?
Thanks

i usualy dont recommend painting. once you paint, youre stuck, or its a hassel to change.
what i do is buy colored posterboards or construction paper and just hook it to the tank, that why youre able to change the background depend on your mood and change to whatever that fits the theme youre going with.

good idea, Miso :)

on the peeling pain thing, I imagine it's just like anything else. when you paint your walls and tape the trim, you might peel some paint when yo utake the tape off. I would think that if you took a razor blade and ran it along the edge of the tape you could peel it off without taking the paint with it.

that happens when you paint glass. There is nothing for the paint to adhere to.

You need a primer OR need to have the glass etched to accept the paint.

I painted with acrylic paint, didn't put any tape on it though...
It hasn't chipped either, and I'm sure that with enough water and elbow grease it would eventually come off if need be.

I'm not worried about getting it off..it comes off very easily with a razer. I'm just wondering if it peals off under normal use.

I use latex wall paint, it stays on fine after you get the tape off if you use it, and its easy to remove later with a razor blade. use the razorblade idea to get the tape off and you should be fine.

I use an Epoxy based paint. I have tanks over 5 years with painted backs and sometimes sides and have never had a chip or peel.
