Hey,

Just looked in the hubby's rainbow fish tank and there is a batch of light pink raspberry eggs just above the surface of the water. I saw those mystery snail being very chummy a couple of days ago...

Anyway, what are the chances the young ones will make it? They are in a 75g with rainbows.

Thanks!
Cathy

It depends on the type of rainbowfish. My Boesemani don't bother much with snails and my duboulayi and affinis love snails.

However, they usually won't mess with snails at all unless they drop themselves through the middle of the water column and mysteries don't usually do that. Pond snails hitching a ride on duckweed or other floating debris are fair game, though.

I've also seen my juvie bows pick at pond snail eggs.

Make sure the eggs stay above the water line or they won't hatch.
