i currently have a community aquarium that is 55 G and densly overstocked, i have the mollies, tetras, like 7 loaches, 1 clown loach, 1 crab, 1 gourmi, 3 cherry barbs, 4 orange barbs, 1 green tiger barb, a 6 inch pleco, a 11 inch pleco, a red fin shark, and i was stupid and bought a peacock eel. Will the peacock eel thrive. Will he eat my loaches, and my crab. and if your thinking will no he wont thrive, Then what size tank would be suitable

you actually need to put the contents of your 15 gallon into a 55 also, the gold fish (i assume you mean a comet)and the black moor get huge.your crayfish will eat your minnow. as far as your 55 tank i dont have experiance with any of the fish except the gourami so i will keep my opinions to myself.though depending on the species of gourami (i personally like blues)you should try keeping a small group together theres nothing cooler than watching them wrap there little "tentacles" all over everything.

no that is just my out dated sig

From my experience the peacock eel is very peaceful. Mine spends his days buried in the substrate or hiding in the cave. I do have him in a tank full of semi-aggressive fish that all sort fo keep each other out of trouble, but the eel is definitely the most peaceful of my fish excepting the pleco. I am not saying he won't eat your loaches or crab though, I have no experience keeping them with those type of fish. The most important thing for the eel is to have either very fine gravel or sand as a substrate as well as a cave or two. I usually only see the nose or tail of mine sticking up. They can also be notorious for escaping, but mine hasn't tried that yet. The eels are fine in a tank of 30 gallons or more but as usual, bigger is better. Mine does seem to have a territory, I can usually find him buried in a certain part of the tank. Hope that helps.

I can tell you that the pleco's will outgrow your tank and quickly, loaches I believe are bottom dwellers (I may be wrong). Tetras are schooling fish which means that they need to be in groups of 4-6 (or more depending on size of tank, which you said was 55 gal.). Mollies are livebearers, so if you have females and males then you are going to have fry. I have heard some people say that barbs are nippy, I'm not sure b/c I have never had any. I don't know anything about eels, if I'm not mistaken then the shark will outgrow your tank and Gourami's are territorial.

There are people here that knows more than I b/c I can only tell you what I know in the regards of platies.

What is your schedule like? How often do you change the water in your tank? What is your Param's (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, etc)?

Have you seen any aggressive behavior since you introduced the eel into your tank?
