Lately my danios have been awful when it comes to devouring the sinking shrimp pellets I have for my cories. They pick the pellets right up and swim them mid tank passing from fish to fish until it's gone. I've tried feeding after lights out, but the danios adapted and followed the cories to the food anyway. I've tried feeding flake and pellets at the same time, but the danios eat the flake and then go for the pellets in a matter of a minute. The cories barely get anything.

I just tried jamming the pellet in a 1/4" piece of airline hosing before dropping it in, but the danios seem to have figured this one out pretty quickly though it does prevent them from picking the pellet up and running with it.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Wait to feed the corys until the room the tank in is also dark so the danios cant see. The corys will find the food on the bottom.

Oh trust me, I've tried lights out and pitch blackness in the room - the danios find it anyway. I once left the room completely dark for an hour, came back, and dropped the pellets in one corner (back near the filter so the danios couldn't feel the tank cover being opened and trigger a food response). I then came back about 15 minutes later with a candle to check that corner of the tank and sure enough the danios were down there devouring the pellets! They're monsters!

Maybe using the bigger sinking wafers would help?

Try putting a few in one corner wait until they go for them then put some in the other corner for the cories.
