I have these catfish looking things in my tank with three leporinus some sharks and 2 cichlids well umm my cichlid has one of the catfish looking things stuck in its mouth, i guess it tried eating something that i thought was too big for him to want to eat. but anyway, should i catch it in my net and pull the dead fish out of its mouth?

Nope, he'll either fishish the whole thing off or just spit it out and let it sit on the bottom, I'd wait till then. If it really is "stuck" and still there after a few hours I would remove it.

its been in his mouth for 3 hours

How big is your manguneuse? Im guessing your "catfish thing" is a cory catfish? If that is the case you can expect them to eat the other ones in your tank.

Do the catfish things look like this:

okay it is possible for a 'catfish' thing to get stuck..

I have personally not witnessed it but I do know some folks that have had this happen.

many catfish species will extend bristles out to keep other fish from swallowing them...it works..

problem is ..they can get stuck.

you may have to physically remove the catfish.

You might as well try, just be careful if that catish thing has any barbs. If he is just protecting it from other fish he should spit it out when you try to catch him. I had an oscar that would take forever to eat fish/lizards and sometimes I just had to be patient.

Wish you luck....remove if it is still there tomorrow.

As an aside....do you realize the overstocking and compatibility issues you have in that 30 gal tank?

Rbishop... you're kidding right? I keep a couple full grown oscars in a 29, and an arowana I'm growing out for a barbecue next summer in a 20L... I really don't see the problem.

*Sarcasm off*

Grimm87, do yourself and your fish a favor. Bring them to the local pet shop and trade them for a trio of fancy guppies for the 30. Better yet, get a half dozen snails instead.
