If you do, I would love it if you could show me a picture of it and tell me the dimensions, because I'm interested in buying one, and I want to know if I have enough room.

Also, if you could give my a price estimate, including the filters heaters, etc., etc. :)

I built mine with the dimensions od 120X24X48. Takes along time to cure

Heater was around 5-700 filter is run through a modified swimmingpool pump system-free from our church, lights are whatever I found around, getting better soon

I found a few sites where folks built their own for pretty low costs, but that takes a fair amount of knowledge to set up properly. Cool if you've got the know-how!

If my figures are right, a 600gal tank would weigh at least 12,000 lbs with water. Eeep! A 25% water change would be 150gallons and, going with my LFS bulk prices, base substrate would run me about $300-$500 dollars.

My measly little 140gal is looking not so bad afterall. :)

go to monsterfishkeepers and read the 50,000gal tank post. I think the owner said he spent around 1200 a month on water changes alone. I know that is way beyond a 1000gal tank, but it will give you an idea on what to expect.

dam, and I thought 7 months ago when I bought my 29gal it was one of the "bigger" tanks around LMAO

We've probably spent around $15,000 on our tank...and that's with my husband doing ALL the building and work. If you're worried about money, big is NOT the way to go...remember, EVERYTHING costs more...water changes, medications, food, decor....

Cost is true!
I built myself my 240 gl tank (much less than 1000 I know). Going begger requires more filtration, heating, lighting, subtrate, decor, water changes total, etc...

Also, be careful where you put it. It would weight over 10.000 pounds.
