Two Nerite Snails and a rock, 24hrs

i cant tell, what did they do???

ah, I see... My black mollies did something like this when I first introduced them to my tank. Its sure fun to watch....way to go snails!

I just dumped a few of those in a 5 gal hex that my son has because it was starting to turn green. Let me tell you in one day almost all of the plexi is clean and they are working the plants right now. I am now worried that there won't be enough food in there to sustain them.

Me too, I think I've gone overboard on my clean-up crew.
The rock is in my Q-tank and has been in there with 4 oto cats for over 2 weeks. Gonna have to give away a few of these or go broke on algae wafers!

From what I understand they will self regulate their population. And a cheaper alternative is to drop a slice of cucumber in there every now and then.

They cannot successfully reproduce in freshwater, so no worries there.

I have a few olive nerites and have done some research, They can reproduce in FW but they need green water and calcium. They wil lay eggs but the eggs do not develop with out the calcium. I will try to hunt down the article later.

I love my nerite snails and think it would be great if I could get them to reproduce.... they lay eggs all the time. They are great algae eaters. I do put zucchini in for them once a week as well as algae tabs every few days (for them, the otos and the BN pleco).
