What could it possibly be doin?

Hey All,
Well for the past couple of weeks my mums prized black ghost knife has grown way to big for the log he used to practicly never coem outa off, hes now around 10 inches or bigger and is a real clown, but every now and then we come out and hes laying on top of his log almost as if he is sleepign there and he will stay like that the whole night, has anyone ever seen or heard of this? is he sleeping? do fish even sleep?
 
My ghost has been known to sleep laying down on the aquarium floor. First time, I panicked thinking he was dead!! Sloshed water about until he woke up!! Whew!! Your mom's may be sleeping on the "log" since it's familiar to him as a safe spot; see if you can find something bigger for him.

Thanks, Yea me and mum were like omg hes dead and we walked up and i think we woke him up, ill try and get a photo of him 'laying down' its kinda cute, lol anyone else had any other experiences with theirs?
