I have pretty hard water with high pH (~7.8). Should I use chemi-pure to help take care of this? I'm reluctant to use chemicals in the water, like a pH reducer solution. Chemi-pure uses resins to remove hardness, but not sure how it changes pH.
I have several plants in my tanks, and they're growing well. My fish are also doing well, no losses yet. I did lose a betta recently, but he was in his own tank and kind of old (almost 3 years). If my water were softer and more neutral in pH, do you think he could have lived longer? My boyfriend and I both loved him and were greatly saddened by his death.
