I have a 40 gallon tank and I just got a 150 Gallon tank that was SW with stand, hood, undergravel filter with 3 power heads 802, an extra powerhead rio 3100 and heater, protein skimmer (not in good condition), plus coral sand, rocks and corals all for $350. I have many questions.

Below is the list of what I plan to do with the tank and would appreciate any feedback to make the set up better (I am still very new to this hobby and need a lot of HELP!

In the 40 g tank I have:
5 parrots
3 silver dollar
3 gouramis
2 plecos
4 angels
1 raphael cat fish
2 monos
3 algae eaters

1. I plan to move tank to tank.
2. I will clean out the tank with vinegar and clean off all the rocks with mild bleach solution before starting the cycle. ( no corals, no sw sand, no protein skimmer) substrate pool sand.
3. Here I need help, I plan on getting a pro clear 200 wet/dry filter with the rio 3100 or get a fluval fx5, this will work well or what you recommend?
4. I will be keeping live plants and adding them to start a fishless cycle.

Any glaring mistakes or omissions? I have one year with my 40 g tank, previously I done it all wrong, this one I want to try and do right from the start and save myself some headaches.

Thanks!

WHOA!

I think you are going to be seriously overstocked.

I have a 180g tank, here is my list

1 17" pleco
7 clown loaches (3-6inches)
1 opailine gourami
1 3 spot gourami
1 gold (3 spot) gourami
1 powder blue gourami
1 gourami of undetermined origin
9 rosey barbs
4 assorted mollys
7 zebra danios
7 ottos
7 black neon tetras
1 apple snail

Are your plecos common? Do you know how big plecos get?
And angels, do you know how big they get?
And silver dollars need to be in a school of 6+..
And whats a mono?
And what kind of algae eater?
And 5 parrots, as in cichlids, that can get 10+ inches?

You need to research each species thoroughly.....

You list is a recipe for disaster IMO.
