I feel your pain. My stand for the 80g didn't even have instructions, I had to wing it! I was close to putting the thing through the wall, I was totally "Hulking" out!!
Sorry but I don't have any tips but to take a step back and try to rethink it all, it eventually all worked out for me, but I think I scarred the wife!!

if it comes out looking like a stand, i just hope it will hold a fish tank!
    :argue:  :argue:
^-- this about wraps it up.

ugh ...
The stand part is OK... it'll hold the fish tank no problem I think. At least, I built it all correctly... I just can't figure out how to get the cabinet doors on and with a big aquarium ontop it's going to be much harder to do eh

are they overhang doors? if they are you can lay the cabinet on its back and get the hinge holes lined up mark them then pre drill.
I have also used tape to hold the door in place while i got the screw holes marked
post a pict, it will help
I'll get pics tomorrow.
The hinge is basically two parts. One goes on the stand and one goes on the door. You line up the screw in a big hole then you're supposed to slide it up a narrow path then tighten the screw.
I can't really attach it to the hinge then attach the door to the attached hinge. I tried. =( It won't work.

hmmm... what you described reminded me of something in my house, does it look like this:

similar. Mine has two screws but only one of them secures the two peices together. It slides up and you close it in.
The other screw seems just for adjustments or something I can't really be sure because they both won't align up ...
