The 2 Emperors 400 have some little latch that can lower water flow for feeding time. The new xp3 I just got is powerfull so im not shure weather I should unplug the power cord or use the outflow regulator for feeding time. The reason I did not add the out flow regulator origionaly is in my experience with tubes and preasure the more elbows and flow regulators you add the less preasure you will have. Also im am a little skepticle on using the flow regulator to retrict water flow, I dont want to cause a leak just because I dont want any food in the filter.
thanks...

what you should so is get the electric outlet switched. Easiest way is a small power bar with a on/off.

Then you can turn off filters and airpumps at feeding time without having to unplug everything.

I installed the flow regulators on day 1 and haven't had any problems to speak of *yet*

have you looked at the Rena flow regulator? Small diameter. It restricts flow to begin with.

thats what I thought

thanks Shelby Tempo GT.I figured the flow regulator would slow thing down even a little bit.

ps I do have the pumps and filters on a power strip. It is connect to a GFCI ground fault circuit interrupter that I installed my self.

I was thinking the strip with the on/off button but was concerned with everyday on and off stop and go on the little mottors.Maybe I just worry too much. The reasond is I have a chinese water dragon (lizard) with a light that stays on now 24hrs a day. When I had it on a timer the bulbs did not seem to last as long and I assumed it was from being turned off and on everyday.Maybe thats not the case and maybe has nothing to do with motors, but I thought I would bring it up.
thanks alot, like always you guys are a big help.
