I've been racking my brain and looking all over to find something that would go well with my tank and it's tankmates. Anyway here is what I've got.

120 Gallon freshwater. Fish: 1 Large Bala Shark, 2 medium Blood Parrots, three Silver Dollars, 1 Common Pleco, 1 Bristlenose Pleco.

So anyway, I used to have a very large Chocolate Cichlid and I liked him a lot. Right now I'm leaning toward getting another but I want suggestions. I'm looking for a larger fish that will be good with these guys and is also a swimmer( i love watching them swim. Don't want something that is going to hide all the time).

One other thing is I do not want anything I would have to feed live food to. I like keeping fish not killing them :) Thanks in advance.

I have no suggestions, but I was amused that your ID is "bloodthirsty", and yet you're against keeping predatory fish.

Thought of severum? They get large (~10") and are fairly peaceful. Different colour varieties also, turquoise or green, gold, red-shoulder etc. They will eat a variety of pellets etc. but they like plants, so maybe not if your tank is planted.
They are a very nice fish.

Burt :)

You should just get a couple of buddies for the bala. They do prefer to be in groups and he might show more personality that way.

Hey thanks for the suggestions everybody. I'll definately look into the Severums and I've always liked Tin Foils but never had room for any. The main thing I'm looking for is a large peaceful swimmer. I've also thought about some mates for the Bala so thats a posibility too.

I did forget to ask about a bottom dweller. My wife used to have a high fin banded shark and we both loved it before her brother unplugged her tank while she was away and he died. :\ They are very peaceful fish and if he out grew this tank....being coldwater he could go to my outdoor fish pond that's 200 gal. Watcha think?

Hi fins get to 24-40" in size, but most don't live long enough to get to 40" because they aren't housed in tanks that are big enough. Have you ever seen an adult?

Adult hi fins are . . . ugly.

Yeah that's why I said he could go outside if he ever got that big. The profile says they grow very slow though. I'm still up in the air and would like suggestions on a bottom dweller to. Thanks.

Regardless, hi - fins are coldwater, your fish are tropical, so atleast a 10 degree change in the temp. they prefer/should have. Guess you can't keep them then.
