It's funny, after NAFTA was signed our union *****ed and moaned about how many American jobs were/are being lost to Mexico, etc.. Then they backed Clinton for re-election because he is 'pro-worker'.

Guess he's 'pro-Mexican worker'?

Not to sound closed minded. But there only needs to be one language, that will just make things easier for everyone. And technically the English language is the easiest to learn. So...you know my vote.

Yeah, the english language is really hard to learn. we break our own rules all the time, and there are so many variations on it. Im not against learning spanish, or any other language to further my comunication abilities. Have any of you ever been to mexico?! A whole lot of them speak english, be it broken, just to make our lives easier when we vacation there, or visit for any other reason.

We're not the only country with boarder issues. Take a look at your high school history book and read about immigrants escaping to other countries illegally to seek refuge from their governments.

I'm not sure what Mexican's are running from (their economy is actually getting better), maybe it's just programmed in their heads that it's somehow better over here and the actual people immigrating just haven't given life in Mexico a fair chance. There are plenty of Mexican citizens who could care less about the U.S. and they better off for it.

I wouldn't mind immigrating to Mexico. Work at a car dealership or something, and every year the hotties flock to the near by beaches, hook-up with them, then they leave. Well, I guess that's just my 20yr old mentality for you. ;)

Not to sound closed minded. But there only needs to be one language, that will just make things easier for everyone. And technically the English language is the easiest to learn. So...you know my vote.Well, down here in central Florida, the language issue is heating up. We have billboards along the roads in spanish, store fronts, menus, etc...
And now even ATM machines are showing spanish for your first choice of language to use for your transaction. Oh, not to forget voter registration cards are in both languages. So, it seems at some point with our changing population, the language may change too, no matter all the complaints about it. Now, how do I say 'aquarium store'?

Oh, I too have heard that English is not the easiest of the languages to learn.

Tienda de aquario....

Dos cervezas por favor.... (two beers please)

Just thought I'd throw in the second one in case an emergency situation comes up. ;)

actually, it's been said that English, isn't one of the easiest languages to learn....

Well, the Basic English language is the easiest to learn. What makes it difficult is the slang from the different areas of the US. Forming basic sentences to get your point across is easier in the English language. Learning the whole language and how to decipher slang is the hard part.
