I have a 65 gallon fish tank with mostly Gouramis I have :

2 male dwarf gouramis
1 feamale dwarf gouramie
2 kissing gouramis
6 tetras
1 algae eater
1 pleco
1 columbian shark
3 three spotted gouramis
1 neon

Here's where the problem is I have 3 three spotted gouramis I think 2 are females and 1 is male but I'm not sure how to tell.
The one that I think is a male has the three spots is smalller than the other two but its darker and has some kind of stripes on it. I have had these guys for about 4months and now all of the sudden the one I think is male has turned into a jerk all he dose all day is attack all my fish, he will even search them out when they are hidding inb the plants, the other two never do anything like this so I'm not sure why this is all of the sudden happening? I put him in my fry net cage ( there is no fry in it) cause I'm not sure waht to do?

Can anyone help me identify whick sex it is. And if anyone has any ideas of what to do with it.

I was wondering this same question about my gouramis yesterday and I found this website that has pics of each:

These are opalines, but they are just a different color variation of the 3 spot so the dorsal fin profile will be the same for yours.

It has a very long pointed top dosal fin but now I am wondering if it is in fact a three spotted gouramie? It does have three spots but the stripes are very dark and he's more of a blueish colour. Anyone know what to do about the aggression?

I'm trying to figure out how to put a picture on here so bare with me as I try LOL

Okay I think I got it it's not the greatest picture I hope you can see it. so if anyone has any ideas if this is infact a three spotted gourami please let me know. And I think judging by the dorsal fin he is male. I just don't understand why he's so mean now.

Looks like an Opaline gourami to me. Look at the link in my previous post, that is also an opaline. They are a color variation of the Three spot.

Well yea, as everyone said, male- pointy, longer dorsal fin. Female- shorter, rounded dorsal fin.

The only thing you can do about aggression with gouramis is either seperate the male from the females, or put more plants in so your females can hide in them, and your male won't bother them as much.

There are many different kinds of 3 spot gouramis. That one in the picture is hard to tell. Blue? Or maybe Opaline. Opaline's you usually can't see the spots, but the blues don't usually have stripes like that, but they can.

I have heard of other kinds of 3 spot gouramis, but these are the main ones. They are all the same species and can breed together, just different color variations.
