so in my quest i have stumbled upon lots of option for fluorescent lights. i wanted to make a thread that has everyones input and opinions since peple have alot of questions about lights. now this is what i have found..
-sizes go from t-5 t-8 t-10 and t-12...
-fluorescent lights are powered by a ballast (electronic or magnetic)
-fluorescent bulbs are rated at watts corresponding to length but depending on size ex. t12 36"= 30w t8 36"=32w iirc
-smaller bulbs like 15w 20w can be powered with a magnetic ballast
and a starter..
-ive been looking into compact fluorescent bulbs and i think that we can use the same ballast as the one pictured above.
i believe that anybody can retro fit a fixture in their hood. just have to match the ballast with the bulb.
