hi, all! i'm just curious which LFS you buy your fish and supplies from. if you don't use an LFS, tell the name of whatever store you use. mine is The Reef, a great little aquarium store, and the only fish specialty store in alaska. they just moved, and are low in stock on supplies, but I would never buy fish and/or plants from any other store in anchorage. I get my supplies from petco, petzoo(an in-state chain), and various wal-marts and grocery stores.

you might have a store called moby dicks your way. im not sure

i use petsmart and pet co

i have a bunch of stores around here, petco petsmart are the biggest. but there are also a few little places that i would go to. as far as supplies i would get them anywhere, though my 15% discount at petsmart leans me to getting them there. as for fish, the only place i will buy fish anymore is www.eastcoastaquatics.com

My main LFS where I buy and order mostly all my fish is "Underwater Depot". Supplies I usually buy online at Drs. Foster and Smith (drsfostersmith.com). Another LFS i go to is "Yo's Aquarium", a very small store that has the most beautiful and colorful fish I have ever seen. This store sells their fish at the lowest prices and each fish's colors are soooooo vibrant, bright and (for lack of a better word) pretty:D. I refuse to go to pet superstores such as Petco because the ones near me always carry very expensive, cheap (in quality) items and all of the fish they are selling in their tanks are either sick, dieing or DEAD.

I was just looking through some old posts and found this one. Forgive me for coming in to this conversation late...

fishcatch22-FYI, The Reef isn't the only fish specialty store in Alaska. We have Fishtopia here in Fairbanks. I won't shop there because their prices are through the roof and the knowledge of their staff goes in the opposite direction but we've got them!

I buy all my fish at Pet Stuff. I used to work there taking care of the fish and I know the person that took over for me does an awesome job. They are locally owned and operated since 1983. It's nice to support the locals.

mmmmmm, I already knew that, they also have one in juneau and one in sitka. i'm just saying I think it's the best one in AK.

i go to a place called Tropical Fish World Inc. in Maryland. This place has a 800 gal showtank with a silver arowana pushing 3' and they used to have a 2'+ jardini aro but it jumped. yeah i know two guys that work there and they are very nice! so this place is highly recomended if you ever come to MD.
