for those of you that don't know, Sid is my Spotted Climbing Perch. he is currently 1 1/4 inch long and can open his mouth a good 1/4" its freaking telescopic! he's in a 10g right now by himself with lots of plants, but i already have a 45 waiting for him once i get it all setup within the next month or two.

but i want to put something with him, and i have no idea what! either other fish are too large, or sid will eat them! i was thinking a pictus cat and a large gourami (opaline or 3 spot) but then i thought maybe a school of giant danios......

i like to have some dither fish in my tank to just add some movement and action, so just wondering if anyone has some ideas?

I would think he would probably be happiest on his own. Anyway the pictus grow huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugee! Hewont eat the opaline gouramie but he will proob beat the c**** outta him.same with da danios.

Also, giant danios grow to 6 inches and are as zippy as the regular danios, so I wouldn't keep them in anything less then a 55g or any other tank with a 4'x1' or larger footprint.

i have 2

I have 2 of these Leopard Ctenopoma. (climbing Perch)

These are pretty compatible with other fish. Other fish won't
bother them and they tend not to be too aggressive, even though
thay can open up their mouths very big, they are very graceful.
Mine are about 3" and growing quickly. They get more beautiful
as they get bigger.

Enjoy.
