I recently bought some Anacharis from an Ebay auction. When they arrived, I carefully washed them off. Upon closer inspection, I notice some grey circular objects on a few leaves. I cannot say for sure what they were. Could these be snail eggs? Also, on some of the leaves, there was some brownish material, almost like a small insect. I am wondering if these are hitchhikers and if so, how do I treat the plants? So far, I have them in a seperate bucket until I find more information. Any help would be highly appreciated

if you are sure the plants have some kind of bug on them, you can disinfect useing the bleach dip method as with 100% kill rate. Note dont try this on other plants, only some (anacharis) will survive.

1) put on some gloves, add 200 ml of bleach to 1 gallon of water
2) dip anacharis in it for 30 sec - 60 sec
3) rinse off VERY WELL
4) dump in a quarantine tank (dont forget adding some extra dechlorinater) for a week while doing a couple water changes during that time

although personally i would just throw it out and buy some more anacharis from a better source. Those plants are cheap, and not worth all that effort imo.
