My male crown-tail has been acting strangely since I put an old hollow barrel platic ornament in the tank for him to hide in. I let it in boiling water first (although not for that long because I was afraid it would melt) because it had smelled pretty bad, something planty, I thought dead algae. At first, he was inside it all the time, but about 24 hours later he is looking droopy and isn't moving around a whole lot. I did a 100% water change and took the ornament out, and it is still too soon to tell if he will do better without it. Anyone know whether an old ornament like that would be bad? By the way, i did test the water:

Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: .25ppm
Nitrate: 10ppm
pH: 7.2
