I have obtained a 24x12x16 2o gallon tank from a garage sale. I started and maintain a 12g planted and wish I had gotten all advice up front, so here it goes:
If it helps, I am going to try to do a heavily planted tank and plan to invest in some good substrate like Eco Complete.
1) Cleaning - is there an article on how to clean used aquariums on this post?
2) Filters -it came with an undergravel and I have a 15g and a 30-60 HOB. I plan to use the HOBS. Should I use the undergravel, too? Will this work
3) Air pumps - With the 2 HOBs, do I need to have an air pump? I would prefer not to, just from an aesthetic perspective.
4) Lights - this tank came with a hood that has one bulb (2 pin flourescent) with 15W. Can I just upgrade bulbs or should I get a whole new hood (any recommendations?
