I am reposting this because I think I might have been in the wrong thread.

Here is my problem I hope someone can help me. I have 46gal planted bow currently filtered with fluval 304. Fluval is leaking and i have not really been fond of it so thinking of getting either Eheim 2026 or 2028. I am used to the three media boxes and love using seachem renew. (FYI-just bought purigen to try since I love seachem products ). So here are my questions:

-If I get the 2026, due to the 2 basket format, can I continue to use the renew or purigen? Where do i put the media if I can?

-Is the 2028 too large for my tank? I am leaning toward it since it has three baskets-more familiar due to fluval has 3 baskets and i could maybe figure out where to put the media.

-Are there any other better filters out there?

One more thing, I am running co2.

For your size tank I would get the 2026. I think the renew will fall through the slots in the baskets. To use the renew you would have to buy the eheim pads and sandwich it between the pads. Either that or put it into one of those mess bags.

You can find the 2026 with the media and intake and spraybar as a complete kit. As far as CO2 you can either run it into the filter intake or just use a dedicated system with a powerhead.

I have the 2028 on my 75 gal and it works fine with the media that came in the kit. Pressurized CO2 is powerhead and DIY reactor. Water crystal clear and no carbon of any sort.

Hope it helps
Lou

Kinda off topic but what do you have for a reactor? I have DIY with gravel cleaner tube, bio balls, and powerhead wondering if there is anything better.

Also in the 2026 since there is two baskets would you use the efimech then renew, course filter pad then efisubst? trying to make sure I am using this correctly with the 2026.
