Feeding Snails!!!

What should I feed my snails? I've been feeding them cucumbers. Is that ok?

Cucumbers are ok, but the best thing to give them are the sinking algae wafers. You can get a decent sized bag for 5 bucks.

well, you don't really need to feed them, but if you insist, just about anything organic they will eat no problem!

You do need to feed your snails. Many snails die from starvation all the time. Especially apple snails. I feed mine slices of peeled potato and apple. They really enjoy that. You can also give them zucchini. Pretty much any peeled veggies are good. I would imagine they would probably like carrot too. I know mine also like to eat peeled peas.

I didn't mean it that way, sorry. he never specified if he had an apple snail, or just some hitchhiker snails. apples: yes, hitchhikers: not really.

well, they are really small, and can usually find enough food in your aquarium. you can still feed them all the foods metioned here if you really want to.

I agree with that statement lol. Pond snails will live on leftover food and algae. Sorry, I didn't mean to sound snippy if I did. I used to have "mystery" snails and couldnt figure out why they kept dying. I finally figured out that they need actual food other than algae. Now my brigs reproduce like crazy and are very happy snails.
