Or has Saturday Night Live really gone downhill. I haven't seen the show in about 6 years. And I watched it the other saturday, and man was it bad. The only really good part was weekend update with these two gals, and that was only O.K. All the jokes were really predictable, and it seemed like the comedians just weren't trying all that much.

Saturday Night Live goes through periods of ups and downs regarding funny-ness. Sometimes they're really on fire because they have a great staff of writers and performers, and other years the troupe is kind of lame.
I never totally give up on them, but I do take a break every once in a while (like now).

I still think they're funnier than Mad TV.

Mad TV is terrible....SNL is good when they get a good batch of writers and actors from 2nd city, but laely they had an exodus of decent ones plus the titan Will Ferrell....Eventually as Ms. Bubbles said they''ll come around...I miss the days when David Cross, Bob Odenkirk and Conan O'Brian wrote....

I used to watch it every week. Now I might every once in a while. It just seems like a waste now... Though I like watching livin color even though it is re-runs.

I was thinkin' the same thing, EMG. Weekend Update with Chevy Chase and Jane Curtain, Rosanna Rosannadanna, Samurai Delicatessan...man, I miss those first few years. I tried to watch this latest crew a couple times but I gotta go with msouth; they're not very funny.

Ah...the good ole days of SNL..back in the 70's....but some of you probably weren't even born yet....lolYou are correct. I haven't watched it but about 10 times since those years.

Anyone remember the 'Muppet' characters they had for about 2 - 3 shows? How about "Looks like a full moon out tonight"? - Bill Murray as 'Todd'
Or "You'll be the highest paid custodian in New York City. Just please don't hurt me."? Chevy Chase to Richard Pryor when they did the word association game.

Chevy did Weekend Update the shortest amount of time but is remembered by most people as the main character.

yeah, SNL just seems to do nothing but hackneyed, covertly racist skits now.

I do believe this is my first time saying this, but "Durn, those WERE the days of SNL!!!" I haven't watched it in years.

I know. I would go for Mad TV over SNL anyday. It just isn't that funny. The Chris Farley episode is funny though.
