hey guys, So I have been checking out home depot, seems the only place to find lights that I want, iam going to add 3 23-27watt CF to my 29 gallon tank along with my 20 watt T8 Power-glo(freshwater, planted). They have 2300k, 2700k, 4100k, 5000k, 6500k, Iam wondering what the best combination would be for my planted tank? I have got the DIY Co2 Injection thing going pretty well in a 3.6litre juice jug and I have it being injected through my powerhead so my tank will be absorbing most of it. My friend says that three 6500k would be the best, but I think mixing it up a little bit is always good, anyways what has worked for you guys, and what would you recomend?

I had 3 5500K bulbs and a 2700K bulb in my 55 hood, and the one 2700K bulb stuck out like a sore thumb. It seems that the warm white spectrum is more visible than 6500K, as it overpowered the 6500 on the same side of the tank. I recently tried a pair of 6500K 40W shop light bulbs over my tank, and in 24 hours my water was opaque green. Back to the 3050K P/A bulbs. I'd stick with 5000K or lower personally, but that's just me.

Interesting, Iam mostly going for plant growth, and I was thinking of mixing it up, (i'll have 4 lights when Iam done) another thing I notice is that most of the aquarium/plant bulbs at home depot are around 2500k, and the hagen flora-gro bulb is 2700k, yet on here I see most ppl like right around 6700k, but say anywhere from 5000-10000 is ok...
