Slightly Cloudy

I recently added Fluval's Peat Granular Filter Media to my HOB bio wheel power filter to bring my ph down. My ph is now to my satisfaction (at 6.6) but i've noticed a slight discoloration/cloudiness to my water. I did a 30% water change but it is still the same. Is this because of the peat granualar or could there be something else thats causing it? I really don't mind the water like this, it looks a bit more natural but I just wanted to make sure there's nothing wrong with my tank. Thank You :]

I havr not used what you mentioned, but have used various types of peat products and always got some discoloration. In the tanks where I did not want the discoloration, I run carbon to clear it out.

if the discoloration is kind of yellowish, that would be the peat. peat has tannins like driftwood does, which turns water yellowish. the best way I've found to deal with it is to do a water change or 2, and add some carbon to your filter until it goes away.
