Anything you want, as long as you have the right lights for plants.
I suggest some hornwort if you want to breed swordtails. It floats on the top and is pretty easy to find at the lfs. Its really up to you and your taste in plants. Go to your lfs and just shop around. I would pick up or look through Takashi Amano's Natures Aquarium World or hunt down any of his other books to under stand plant tanks and what you can do with them.
and yes, a 2 gallon is way to small for swordtails.

Did you or didn't you want want live plant suggestions? If you don't want live plants, then you can get whatever fake plant strikes your fancy. I'd get a mix of tall, medium and short plants for scaping.

silk plants!

Go to a walmart or similar or (sometimes) a dollar store. They should have a good selection of silk plants there. Any silk plant willl be safe as long as there isn't any metal in it, but I suggest you rinse them off before putting them in the tank, to remove any toxins or residues that could be on them. To find out if a silk plant has metal in it. look at the end of a stem and see if there are any "bumps" (for lach of a better term) or a metalic reflection in the end.

There you have it, a great looking and dense planting can be acchived for a mere $10-20 (vs. $30-50 if you were to go with plants made specifically for aquariums).

Also, when you get the plants and heater, just move the entire contents (gravel, decor, plants, filter media, as well as fish) of your 2g into the bigger tank, and it will be instantly cycled, asuming that the 2g is already cycled.

This just doesnt make sense to me. If you want to BREED SWORDS, then USE LIVE PLANTS. The best is Hornwort. This will give the fry plenty of places to hide on the water top column and will supply them with food, such as infusia living on the plants.

sorry i didnet say that right. i did everything you guys said. i get back for my LFS with fish. and i saw a trangle shap on my brick swordtail (female) what is this?
