well this figures, i got my fluval 405 yesterday, used from someone,
and now i cant get the hagen website to work.
and naturally, i cant figure out how to work the thing.

so anyone want to let me know how to get this thing started?

i have 1... well i have the 404 not the 405 but mine just blows air for the first 5 mins then starts right up... maybe the magnet motor thing needs cleaned... that is sometimes a problem for me...

what is the little start thingy? does it have a prime? a little thing that pulls out and pushes in to create the vacuum? did you fill it ot the top? after you put the lid on you will need to tap all over to release air then top it off from the 2 holes in the top...

I have a 404 ...
It's _really_ bad to run it without being primed so that guy who said it blows air for five minutes ... You scare me...

There is a little primer at the top that you pump up and down to encourage water into the thing. It works like a siphon and it should start filling all by itself .. the veyr first time i had to pump it up and down thorughout the whole fill though ... =(

It's recommended you fill it up by the primer and not to add water to it and blah blah blah ...

Anywho,
after you get it primed the first time you won't need to do it again... the hoses that you detach are still filled with water so I noticed that when I turn the valve back on the rushing water just gets it priming by itself.

to turn it on you just plug it in >.>

at least on the 404

ohh forgot about not having tubes filled... when i set mine up i put all of my hoses in the water to fill em first... sorry

ok, im going to scream, it seems thats its leaking, and the o-ring, is brand new. i wish the hagen site wasnt down...im sure its human error,

if by chance anyone has a link to a place that has the instructions please please let me know.
