Recently my large female albino cory started hiding in her cave much more than normal. She doesn't come out to eat in the morning like she used to. I'm concerned because when she does come out she is very skiddish and darts around suddenly. She isn't looking as healthy as she normally does. She eats but not nearly as voraciously as usual. Her gill plate on one side seem more open at the top and I can see a little blob of something in the upper gill when she breaths. It looks like part of her gill but its hard to tell because she is either hiding or moving quickly these days. My concern is I recently lost my beautiful betta after a very short illness. Just before he died he shook his head and a large glob of mucus came out of his gill. Do you think my cory is showing signs of a gill disease? Do you think I should treat the whole tank since the sick betta was in there as well? If so, what should I use? My tank is 21 gallons and my water parameters are all good. I do regular water changes and everyone else in the tank seems healthy at this point.
