I've got a pair of Blue Rams that happened to be in a community tank that came down with ICH.
The weren't doing well, they survived the first treatments, but after a partial water change and additional treatment, one started laying down on the gavel and breathing heavily. After another water change and treatment, this one is on his side, and really can't swim, he "spins" out of control.

I moved both to a hospital tank, one looks to be improvving, and the one is still "spinning" but he now looks to be having a much better time breathing. He also seems to have more energy for his uncontrollable ventures in the tank(which is a flip around to another spot he can lay)

My question is, does he have a chance to recover? Or should he be euthenized. I know these guys are sensitive to water conditions.

My Ich Treatment was "quick cure" at a half dose. While it's obious that the fish do not like the stuff(they swim away from it as it is added).... the other fish seem to be doing fine, including the loaches.\

Help

i used quick cure on my blue rams and they started breathing heavily at the top and both died, it seems like that crap harms them, the ich didnt even go fully away

The spinning is likely from nerve or skeletal malady which means it's permanent. If it looks healthy otherwise, it could live provided it gets food.
To euthanize is your call.

Don't need to euthenize. He died this morning. The other one is starting to look better now that it's in another tank.
She's getting her colors back, but is still a little sluggish. I think she'll be OK.

I've learned a couple lessons..

- Always Quarentine.

- Try the Temp and Salt method, better to lose plants than fish! (it's a well planted tank)

Quick Cure looks to have resolved the Ich on all the fish... er.. well.. but the Clowns, which shows that the cycle is not broken. The outbreak is staring to subside though. I only found about 5 total white spots this morning. At one point, I could count 20-30. One clown loach was pale for a while, but he had his color back this morning. I'm going to keep with the Quick Cure this time... and do SALT in the future. However, with a quarantine tank, I hopefully will avoid these outbreaks.

Take care,
