Well the tank is cycled, I got my mangroves in there, then promptly changed my plan about what I wanted in there. Originally it was going to be a mudskipper, an archer, some bumblebee gobies, a few dalmation mollies and some red clawed crabs. I've decided an archer is just going to be too big, and I'm not sure if I'm going to upgrade in size with this tank, space being an issue.

So, what to do. I still kind of want a mudskipper. I thought a puffer would be cool, but I don't know if they'd get along. I know that would mean no crabs or mollies either probably. Or, a puffer and a brackish moray and just make a brackish predator tank. I need some suggestions, anyone have some good ideas? Its a 40 breeder, undergravel filter, with 10 mangroves in there right now with nothing else. Ideas?

Are you planning to provide any surface area for the mudskippers to go out on? From what i've seen, many of the species spend alot (or even most) of their time above water. At the pet store near me that is how they are. There is a neat documentary series ("BBC: the living planet") that has a segment on mudskippers too, and includes their living and spawn habits,etc.. Come to think of it, the archer fish is features in the same episode.. but ya, its a neat series, definently worth checking out.

Yeah I've built a beach basking area out of pvc. The tank is all the way full, and I built a plexiglass 6" wall around it, so the mudskipper (hopefully) won't be able to jump out. I'm coating the whole thing in sand right now, when its done I'll have to post pix to show you what I did.

where did you get the alligator snapping turtle? Last time i saw one , i was dumb enough to save it off the road, darn thing was so tiny and still took a chunk of my thumb.

A friend bought it from a pet store in RI when she was about 6" long, and I adopted her when he moved. She's almost 10" long now.
