I am regretting buying an aquarium that was called Goldy's Home (starter pack aimed at kids)! The reason for this is the filter is meant to come with an adaptor to alter the pump outlet flow, yet there wasn't one included in the pack. When I went to the shop I bought it from they said none of the packs had this adaptor in. I have tried looking on the net for suppliers that stock the "Goldy's Home" Power filter but no one has them.
Does anyone have such a filter or know whether I need to diffuse the outlet (the tube is about 7mm in diameter and the flow is strong and making large ripples in the tank 32x22x27cm approx)?!
I have posted this in another forum but I am desperate for an answer before I buy the fish at the weekend!
Cheers

my question back to you is the same, I'm not sure if you;ve answered it yet though..... does this filter use filter cartridges? Does it have filter slots? You can put additional media before the outputs in order to slow up the flow or put nylon on the intake to slow that up or both.... just be careful that neither one causes and overflow.

Yeah sorry for putting this in 2 different forums - to confuse you!
I think it is a sponge filter (can't look at mo as at work) and it does have a variable flow setting but it hardly makes a different. I am able to remove the top part of the filter (where the water is expelled) so I could do what you said and insert a bit of sponge or something I suppose. But I would prefer to keep the flow amount the same and just change the flow shape - ie change from a clylindrical water jet to a fanned out one.
Does that make sense or am I talking jibberish (wouldnt be a new thing)?!!!

I think I can understand what you're needing. perhas you can fit a fan shaped sponge either under the flow or at the flow to fan it out for you....

Cheers Dangerdoll!
I am buying the fish (from a proper fish keeper) on Saturday so I will look for something to fan out the water and/or get advice from the people there.
Thanks for your help!

good luck, and don't forget to post back, I'm interested in what you come up with.
