Was thinking about trying my hand in a marine tank. Just use it to learn more about it. I've only ever done freshwater tanks and thought I could give it a try....maybe not even keep anything in it but just set it up and see how it goes. Thoughts?

Also if I could keep something in a tank that small what would it be? Thanks.

GREAT stuff mate i started my 1st marine with a 15gal tank it was cool but only upto a 29gal now but im up gradeing very soon cause marine so much better in larger tanks BUT

YOU could keep

pair of clowns
fire fish
scooter blennie
damsels (dont tho)
gobbies
there`s lots more small fish out there
plus invert hermits,shrimps,snails

you`d be able to keep around 3-4 smallish fish pair of clowns & summat else plus few corals if correct lighting

TIP
buy live rock around 10kg then you wont run into as many problems

The absolute best advice for anyone getting into marine and/or reefkeeping is to research until your head explodes from all the knowledge, wich is very unlikely top happen. Seriously, I spent almost 6 months of researching before diving into setting up my reef (originally planned to be a fish only, but that changed quite quickly thanks to garf) and I think I should have done even more than that.

To start your research, get a book or two, look through the stickys, do google searches (google is your freind :D ), and start looking through the forums and archives. Also, my member page has a "few" links in it.
