I have an inkling that my Pleco in my moderately planted tank is eating one of my plants. I feed him/her Aquarian Algae chips usually every night. However I believe I forgot last night and this afternoon I noticed a plant missing its leafs. I'm upset because I have never had ANY luck with plants and this time I bought plant food/fertilizer, etc and now one of my recently purchased plants is missing all but two of its limbs. Any suggestions are appreciated.

get a bigger tank. I would be more concerned with tank size. a 100g is ideal. most likely your pleco is just resting on the plants and not actullay eating them. my BN does it all the time. the plant most likely lost the leaves because there is something wrong.

What kind of pleco do you have? The majority of them will gladly eat a live plant over an algae wafer. The only thing you could possibly do is move the pleco to its own tank.

I talked to him in the chat room, it's a common in a 20g.

well, it could be lack of light or nutrients. i'm not a expert on plants, but i'm sure many people here can help you.
