29 Gallon Stocking Suggestions?

Edited thread instead of creating a new one....

My cycle finished on the 12th... I added 5 small neon tetras, not full grown.

Well, it was a fish cycle, but I didn't have many casualties. I currently have 4 Guppys, 1 Guppy Fry and 1 Gold Gourami... Also, my newest addition are 5 Neon Tetras.

The Tetras are small, I was actually wondering if they would be better off with another 3-5 partners.

Tank is a 29 Gallon.

I also still want to add a few more fish aside from what I currently have. Definately an algae eater, and some shrimp also.

What are good to keep the algae off the glass, and also off the plants / rocks...

Congrats on your cycle! Just remember to stock s l o w l y . . . :)

I don't think it should hurt but I myself usally give it another 2 days or so. The reason is to be sure everything is stable and not just a fluke. I would just rather be safe then sorry. This is just the way I do it but most people agree that this is not needed.

Good luck on your tank.

Stock slowly. Unless you did fishless cycling (in which case you can add ammonia to replicate a full fish load), your tank will go through a mini-cycle with each added fish as the bacteria grow to keep up with the new load.

Made that mistake. I added all my fish within a couple weeks and a lot of them died :(

I think the day that your tank finishes cycling should be celebrated like a birthday! (not that I've marked it on my calenders or anything... )

Congrats! What are you looking into stocking?

it's ready, man! just remeber, when it comes to stocking, slow and steady wins the race! :D but, how big is your tank, and what are you planning to add?
