I am going to change from my freshwater to marine soon and am wondering about a few recommendations.
1. How much live rock should i put in the aquarium ?
2. I currently have 2 x 30 W lights with reflectors. Can I setup a reef tank with this much light ?
3. Are the any links to fish which would comfortable in this size tank, i know clowns would be but is there any site that breaks down species by tank size ?

Thanks in advance
Damian

welcome to saltwater!!
are you planning FO, FOWLR or Reef?

1. live rock is usually 1-2 lbs per gallon depending on what type of rock. Tonga, Fiji, etc.

2. lights will range from bare min (power comp), to top of the line MH.

3. fish are not specific to tank size. i would say it depends more on what kind of tank you want. community, aggressive, species only.
check out fosters and smith at www.liveaquaria.com

good luck

Actually fish are pretty specific to tank size. There are many marine fish that you wouldn't put in a tank certain sizes. Tangs are a good example of fish that shouldn't be housed in anything less that a 48" long tank due to their need for linear swimming space.

You would be best to read all the stickies at the beginning of this forum as they contain a multitude of information that is necessary before beginning. This is a very rewarding hobby, lots of work, and can be very expensive so better to make sure you buy the right equipment rather than looking to go cheaper then being disasatisfied and then having to outlay more money later.

2. You would need about 3 times that amount of light for a reef tank. However, it is adequete for a fish only tank.

Capecodder's answer wasn't complete enough IMO.
