A few months ago I upgraded my 29 to a 37 and now I'm upgrading to a 55. This is/will be a planted tank. Here's my current stock:

1 full grown angel
4 blue gouramis
4 spotted cories
2 green cories
2 otocinclus
1 CAE

I'm considering donating the CAE to the LFS as I've heard of aggression problems and the tank change might be my only chance to catch him. He only occasionally chases the gouramis, but leaves everyone else alone. He's about 2 1/2 - 3 inches long now.

I would REALLY like to have a mated pair of angels in the tank, but trying to find a mate for my adult seems to be a tricky affair. The gouramis have exceeded my expectations, as they will now eat from my hand like the angel does. Aggression between them is less than that in my mbuna tank.

I had a thread asking the same question a few months ago, but the circumstances are a bit different now (bigger tank, now planted, addition of gouramis).

if you lucked out and could find a mate(biggest issue is trying to determine sex)

your 55 would become quite a bit smaller..a mated pair of angels..will become territorial and will get pretty agressive defending it.

I would leave the tank as is for now.

angels need 10 gallons each..2 would basically leave you with 35 gallons
