So I posted this in General FW, but no one responded (quite a few views, though) so I'm guessing nobody there knows. I'll pose this question to the plant experts.

I witnessed my smallest glass catfish swallow a small piece of rock wool! It was about the size and shape of a brine shrimp, so he probably thought it was feeding time.

What should I do? Has anyone else had fish consume the stuff? Will it hurt him? What is it made of?

I do my very best to remove all of it (toothpick combing method and lots of water) from new plants, but I guess I missed a perfect snack-sized morsel of it.

I'm worried because glass cats have such small insides... you can see all of them, after all.

Since no one responded to you yet... I would guess it will manage to pass through him and wouldn't worry too much. If he gets a blockage from it, I'm not sure if there is anything you can do.

I think I would feed him well and keep him pooping. Good luck and try not to worry.
Mary.

aw, thanks. everyone's been so supportive. Rowangel actually told me the same thing in General FW at the same time I posted this. It's just that glass cats are so delicate and I've been wanting them for so long (years) that I want the best for them. They're my special little guys *choke*
