My red star fish looks like it has had its legs eaten..looks awful..I have noticed a crab which i thought was a flat shelled crab but have seen it up close today and it is hairy, could this be a teddy bear crab? Would it cause damage to a star fish?
Also I have heard clicking sounds, could this be the crab or could it be the dreaded mantis hiked on the rock. I have never seen him but I know that he is hard to find. What should I do about the teddy and could that be my problems or could it be that i have a mantis in my tank. If anyone has a picture of either I would be grateful.
Any help appreciated

here is a pic of a teddy bear crab: http://www.edge-of-reef.com/brachiuri/BRAPolydectuscupuliferen.htm

i wasnt able to find much info on the teddy bear crab so i wouldnt be able to tell u if thats the cause of ur problem. however, im pretty sure if it was a mantis that was getting to ur star the mantis probably would have killed it and not just eaten one leg. also, the clicking noise might be a pistol shrimp and not a mantis shrimp. after lights out check around ur tank w/ either a red flashlight or a very dim one. red would be better tho.
