PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!!! Ideas for stocking

just got rid of my aquarium due to a move, and so time for an upgrade.
Want a 40gallon so any ideas what to put in going for two fish that are unusual and have personality

Bichirs are cool I think. Two seng. bichir would be ok in a 40 breeder. You could also go with two delhezi bichir.
 
A 40 gallon would be ideal for a a good sized school. Maybe a tetra. You could then add one medium sized bottum feeder, or a small school of cory cats.
