i've heard that live tubifex worms can carry all kinds of fishy disesases. i've also heard that if you rinse them really well, and the water is still clear the next morning, that you're probably OK.

these are the only kind my LFS carries (the only one 3 that even carries live food). i've heard blackworms are cleaner (raised in captivity), but i can't find them.

i don't feed tubifex often to my fish, like once every couple of months, but i'm still a little worried.

what are your thoughts?

If you are unsure about feeding live tubifex you can get frozen version of Tubifex, Bloodworm, Daphnie etc..they all provide near the same protiens as the live stuff and all have been cleaned etc prior to packaging. This may be an alternative you could look at.

I've never had a problem with the OmegaOne Freeze Dried Blood Worms or Tubifex
