hey, i'm just wondering why wal-mart can still sell fish. shouldn't PETA or the ASPCA get on those (please excuse the word) basturds?!?! don't they care about the lives of those innocent fish?!!? every wal-mart in existence IME is an ich-ridden mess, and they are sponsoring buying fish without any planning at all by putting them right there for the impusle buyers. every time I go to wal-mart, I am swamped by the fish ignorant. every dumbbutt in town in there is buying a goldfish for a 1-quart bowl or a bala shark for a 10g tank that has been up for 1 day. yesterday, in one half hour, I met 5 people buying fish there with absolutely no knowledge about fish whatsoever! I set as many straight as humanley possible. although some are a little better than others, like, they take the time to tell that person just how big that oscars gonna get, but they still give bad advice, like the salt in FW tanks myth and it will only grow to the size of the tank crack. my point: wal-mart should not sell fish, or at least hire people who know a thing or two about aquariums and can tell people to do their research. sorry about the rant, i'm just a passionate teen who loves animals and hates ignorance and super-corporations that don't know their own limitations.

Hmmm... Youve got a better wal - mart than me, as last I looked in there fish section , they didn't have any LIVE fish, and some tanks had no fish at all. A few years ago they had a good fish section, but not anymore.

Garbage in, garbage out. That store doesn't pay for knowlege or illness free fish. Even if they do have good employees they soon tire of playing fish doctor every time they get new fish in. Even if they do get someone that cares about the fish in there the store has a habit of moveing everyone around so that person doesn't get to work in the pets section for very long.

Sadly, stores like wallyworld make more money when fish die then when fish survive. And why educate people? Think about it, one ignorant person may buy three times as many fish, more expensive ‘cool’ fish (regardless of compatibility/size issues) and become repeat buyers to replace those fish once they die than one educated person. It’s in their best interest to sell sick fish to the ignorant.

god dam, they are puuuure evil!

shouldn't PETA or the ASPCA get on those (please excuse the word) basturds?!?!

Peta and the ASPCA are bigger *******s than Wal-mart ever could be, lets not fuel their inane little fires please.

We have had one Wal-mart bashing thread after another here, and the bottom line is if you don't like Wal mart selling fish Do what I do. Stop going to the fish section at Wal-mart. I haven't been there for years, and won't go there in the future. I try not to shop at Wal-mart at all becuase it Aint Just fish I hate them for. Boycotts are the way to make a statement, and if you just quit going to the fish section at Wal-mart, you'll have less to worry about.

And that pretty well wraps up the full range of emotions on WalMart selling fish, so I'm closing this before it gets too repetitive.
